Takuya Seo is a quiet otaku who keeps a low profile at school—until two gals from his class start talking to him. The cool but scatterbrained Kei Amane and the cheerful, energetic Kotoko Ijichi couldn’t be more different, but the three soon bond over anime, games, and shared fandom. But one question remains: do nice gals who hang out with otaku really exist?!

Twilight, but for (weeb & otaku) men. Also, the accurate title should be "A Gal Can't Be Kind to Two Otakus". The reason I started to watch this is because of the HIDE AND SEEK song by i-dle. I really like the song and had no knowledge about the manga & anime beforehand and seeing the MV with its opening kinda looped me into watching it because the art style looks pretty good despite the premise looking cliché, but as long as it knows what it is and never went full-blown harem shenanigan le anime, I'm fine with it and boy, I'm glad I was right. I love how the anime balances romance and platonic love pretty well and not only focuses on their trio relationships, but also goes to their family and friends' relationships as well (at the very least on the gals side). Honestly, it's a decent romance-friendship comedy anime series with wholesome vibes and somewhat mature themes on friendships and relationships too. It can be deeper and go into more critical in this kind of trope, but it chooses not to, which is a bit of a shame in my opinion. Still, I think it's really decent and deserves some love and the animation is pretty good as well.
